Why wear a scrunchie?

Hey, ever thought why wear a scrunchie when you can always let your beautiful locks down or clip it up?

• Asians because of the weather, hot & humid throughout the year. People with long hair suffers.


• Hair barrettes couldn't hold thick hair.


• Great for bad hair days (ie. yet-to-be-blown-dried hair) when we need to run out to the store on occasion and look stylish at the same time.

But, don't ever wear it like Sarah Jessica Parker. It's like she's been attacked by a killer scrunchie!

Sweet Glamour

I do miss those ribbons sometimes. During school days, we used to tie ribbons on our pony tails. Do you still remember how it made your hair looked WOW? But when we grow up, tieing a ribbon is out of the question. Why? To me because you look childish.

The Batik

The Batik features scrunchies made from the famous batik cloth of 100% cotton. Batik, to many is a traditional thingy and is well-known only among elite KL folks. It is used mainly in formal functions and worn mostly by the older generation. Correct, but that's a long time ago.

Playful Pastel

Pastel colours are a favourite among ladies, young and old. They are the softer version of the original colour and very youthful. They are always an IN thing.

The pastel lining cloth is made into strings (not ready made ones) and weaved into chrysanthemum knots. Quite time consuming but the result is amazing and it has become one of my favourite pick.

To make it standout in the crowd, I have paired it with polka dots material.

These few days, you probably feel flooded with dire-sounding environmental news ie. what is going to happen to our earth on 21-12-2012, northpole could be ice-free this summer, snowing in South Dakota and wildlife vanishing in a fast pace caused by the sudden change in weather. Scary. Very scary indeed.

Back to basics is one simple yet important way that we can incorporate in our daily lives.

When I was working a few years ago in D'sara Jaya (PJ), I used walk to work and back home which took me 30 mins (TO only, not fro) and 45 mins if I take my own sweet time. Everyone gave me the look as though I'm an extreme frugal lot. But who cares..I'm doing this for the environment and proud of it!!

So if you can ignore these so called "superiority complex" category of people then YOU can do something for the mother nature too!

Nautical Stripey
